Application
Recommendations
Here are a few application tips to help you get the highest
level of performance from CHUCK-EEZ.
Application methods:
Hand
grease guns
Pneumatic
grease equipment
CHUCK-EEZ
may also be applied down to -20° F using a brush with stiff bristles or by
burnishing in with a clean cloth.
Using
CHUCK-EEZ
Grease each chuck twice for every eight-hour shift, especially if a lot of
coolant is used. Two shots of CHUCK-EEZ is enough since the
guideways cannot hold much grease.
Every two weeks, tear down each chuck to clean and re-grease. (You may wish to
maintain a second backup chuck to keep your machine running while performing
maintenance.)
As cycle times become longer (1.5+ minutes), greasing may only be required once
in every eight-hour shift.
Hydraulic
Pressure
(Based on KITAGAWA F1236H00 Cylinder) Based on 1.250" high soft jaws,
proper pressure is approximately 308 psi. As jaws become taller, pressure should
be reduced to approximately 50% of this value.
NOTE: This is a general guideline and should be checked against the chuck
manufacturer's documentation.
Summary
By using CHUCK-EEZ according to the above recommendations, you
should experience longer chuck life while keeping within the manufacturer's
specifications.
